🏘 Two New Housing Developments Proposed in Lacey & Tumwater

Early plans hint at new neighborhoods

Early plans hint at new neighborhoods, but timelines remain uncertain

If you live in Lacey or Tumwater, you could be seeing new neighborhoods in the not-so-distant future — though both are still in the early planning stages.

📍 The Townhomes at Sleater Junction – Lacey

In Lacey’s urban growth area, Edwards Development Group is proposing The Townhomes at Sleater Junction. Plans call for:

  • 50 townhome units

  • 3.03 acres of dedicated open space

  • Stormwater facilities

  • New sidewalks for improved pedestrian access

The proposed site is located at 4212 23rd Ave. NE, just outside Lacey’s core, and could add much-needed housing options in a growing part of Thurston County.

📍 Anderson Place – Tumwater

Meanwhile in Tumwater, Pinnacle Development Services is exploring Anderson Place, a planned single-family residential development featuring:

  • 84 detached homes

  • Community-oriented design focused on suburban living

While details like pricing, lot sizes, and amenities aren’t yet public, this project could bring one of the larger single-family developments to Tumwater in recent years.

🏗 Still in the Proposal Stage

Both projects are currently in the proposal and review phase, meaning there’s no set timeline for construction or sales. Public input, permitting, and market conditions will all play a role in whether these developments move forward.

With Thurston County continuing to see demand for new housing — especially in commuter-friendly areas near I-5 — these proposals are worth watching.

📌 Why It Matters
For current residents, new developments can bring more housing supply (which may help with affordability), but also raise questions about traffic, infrastructure, and neighborhood character.

We’ll continue tracking these proposals as they move through the planning process.
