🎒 This Is Wild Waves' Last Weekend Ever: Fright Fest Ends November 1

After nearly 50 years, the Federal Way park closes for good after three final nights of haunted houses, scare zones, and rides in the dark.

This is your last chance. Wild Waves in Federal Way closes permanently when Fright Fest ends Sunday, November 1, which leaves three nights to say goodbye.

The owner announced the closure last December, citing years of losses since the park reopened after COVID. The water park already closed for the season in early September, so this run of Fright Fest is the last time the gates open. The Tacoma Ledger reported last week that a rescue by a new owner is highly unlikely.

Fright Fest is the park's Halloween takeover. Two haunted houses, Chamber of Souls and the new Black Hallow Woods, open after dark, along with the Haunted Harvest and Trail of Terrors scare zones, live shows, a 21+ Vampire Bar, and rides in the dark from about 6 PM. Everything is rated PG-13.

Bringing little ones? Booville, a scare-free zone for ages 12 and under, runs Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 6 PM. Reservations are required and daily tickets are limited, and Halloween and closing night are the most likely to sell out, so book ahead.

Details:

  • When: Friday, October 30, 6 to 10 PM; Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, 2 to 10 PM

  • Where: Wild Waves, 36201 Enchanted Pkwy S, Federal Way

  • Tickets: as low as $64.99 online, $69.99 at the gate, child and senior $41.99, ages 3 and under free (plus tax)

  • Good to know: no re-entry after 6 PM, and guests under 18 need an adult 21 or older

Real estate note: regional landmarks like Wild Waves are part of what made the South Sound a great place to grow up. When a big site like this closes, what comes next matters to the neighbors around it, and plans for this one are still only proposals, so it's worth watching.
