🍂 The Tumwater Falls Fest Returns September 26 With a New Pumpkin-Painting Patch

Fall festival season is here, and one of the best of them has one of the best settings around. The Tumwater Falls Fest returns Saturday, September 26, at Brewery Park at Tumwater Falls.

Now in its fifth year, the festival is free and runs from 10 AM to 4 PM, put on by the City of Tumwater. The park itself does a lot of the work: the falls, the historic brewery grounds, and the walking trails make it one of the most scenic places in the South Sound to spend a fall Saturday, festival or not.

The day fills that setting with live music, art and food vendors, and kids' activities. New for 2026 is a Schilter Farm pumpkin-painting patch, with free pumpkins while supplies last, so younger kids have something to make and take home. It is an easy, low-key outing: let the kids decorate a pumpkin, browse the vendors, grab something to eat, and work in a loop around the falls before you go.

Because it is free and family-friendly, it draws a good crowd, so plan to come earlier in the day for parking and the pumpkins. And bring a camera. The falls in early fall light are hard to beat.
