The Tacoma Night Market Returns August 8

One of Tacoma's most fun recurring events is back on August 8: the Tacoma Night Market.

Held at "The Mothership" the market's permanent home at 5407 S Washington St (54th & Washington), the Night Market runs every other weekend, all year, and the next one is Saturday, August 8 from 5 to 10 PM. It's free and all ages.

What you'll find: 50-plus local makers and artists, live music, food, and drinks. This is the market for the things you can't get at a chain, original art, handmade goods, vintage finds, and the kind of one-of-a-kind pieces that come from actual local creators. The atmosphere is a big part of the draw; it's eclectic, welcoming, and distinctly Tacoma.

If you want to make it a weekend, the organizers also run a Sunday Drag Market the next day, August 9, from 11 AM to 4 PM at the same location.

Here's a bonus for planners: the same Saturday, August 8, the Pacific Northwest Market runs a daytime maker market down at Point Ruston from 2 to 7 PM. You could do the waterfront market in the afternoon and roll into the Night Market in the evening, a full day of supporting local makers on both ends of town.
