π The Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm is Back This Summer
A Beloved Olympia Tradition Returns for 4 Weekends.

After a winter that nearly closed it down for good, one of Olympia's most photographed local destinations is officially returning for another season.

Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm, owned and run by Thane and Peggy Bryenton on their property at 9733 Evergreen Valley Rd SE, has confirmed it'll be open for the 2026 season.
π The Story Behind This Year
Both Thane and Peggy worked through significant medical recoveries this past year, Thane had a hip replacement two years ago, then shoulder surgery in September 2025, and Peggy worked through a shoulder injury of her own. Now both in their early seventies, and doing all the work on the farm themselves, they had genuinely considered closing the public side of the farm for good.
What changed their minds: the holiday pop-up.
"Thane and I had discussed closing the farm to the public after last season, due to all of our medical conditions," Peggy told ThurstonTalk. "However, we opened during the holidays and our guests were saying that this was their favorite place to come, so we couldn't imagine denying them that opportunity this coming season. We really do this more for the guests than ourselves."
Thane added: "I have regained most of my strength and agility and I'm excited to continue working the fields so that we can enjoy seeing our guests again this Summer."
πΎ What to Expect This Year
The 2026 season is intentionally shorter than past years, just four weekends, so the Bryentons can celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 24 and travel afterward.
Opening: June 26β27
July 3β4
July 10β11 β two-day Lavender Festival (first time the farm has hosted this)
July 17β18 β final closing day, 4pm
On-site, you'll find:
U-pick lavender fields
Gift shop with candles, soaps, lotions, and dried lavender bundles
Gazebo and picnic seating throughout the property
Kid attractions: "Mater," a 1949 International flatbed truck, and "Olivia," an Oliver tractor
Daughter Genevieve's adjacent gift shop, The Flower and Vine

πͺ The Lavender Festival (July 10β11)
The big new addition this year is a two-day Lavender Festival featuring 12+ vendors. Expected vendor categories include stained glass, ceramics, jewelry, apparel, painted glassware, birdhouses, soaps, art, cookies, crocheted animals, gourmet hot dogs, local honey, coffees, ice cream, books, and lavender-lemonade from an Ellensburg distillery.
"We are very excited to host a two-day Lavender festival this year," Thane said. "It'll be the first time for us to do so."

π Why Locals Love It
"We believe that the peace and serenity and the calm that our fields induce is what the majority of our guests come for," Peggy said.
It's the kind of place that doesn't need a marketing campaign. Word of mouth keeps it alive. And after this year, given the Bryentons' age and the labor of farming, there's no guarantee on future seasons. If you've been meaning to visit, this is the year to actually go.
