πΆ The Dune Peninsula Summer Concert Series is Lit
Bob Moses, Alabama Shakes, and Free Tacoma Concert Band

Tacoma's waterfront has been quietly building one of the best outdoor concert lineups in the Pacific Northwest, and this summer's slate makes the case.

Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park β the 11-acre park transformed from a former Superfund site into a sprawling waterfront venue with sweeping Mt. Rainier and Puget Sound views β is hosting two major touring acts in the next month, both presented by Showbox.
π§ Bob Moses + Cannons + Oxis β Tuesday, July 14
The Canadian electronic duo (Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance, both from Vancouver) bring their Grammy-winning brand of "song-driven electronic" to Tacoma. The pair grew up in the same Vancouver high school but didn't really know each other until an unexpected reunion in a New York parking lot.
The opener Cannons is the LA-based synthpop trio (Michelle Joy, Ryan Clapham, Paul Davis) β their song "Fire for You" was a Spotify viral hit. Oxis rounds out the bill.

Tickets: Available β typically start around $82
πΊ Bonus: Free Tacoma Concert Band β Wednesday, August 6
If you want a different vibe (and a free one), Tacoma Concert Band plays their annual summer concert at the park on Wednesday, August 6 at 6:30 PM. FREE. Bring a blanket.
π Venue
Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park
5361 Yacht Club Rd, Tacoma, WA 98407
The setting is what makes this venue special. The Wilson Way Bridge connects the park to Ruston Way; the sail-mound viewpoints look out over the water; on a clear day, Mt. Rainier dominates the south horizon. Pre-show, walk Ruston Way; post-show, grab dinner at Duke's or Lobster Shop.
π Why It Matters
The Tacoma Dome and the Pantages get the big arena and theater shows β but Dune Peninsula has carved out a different lane: mid-sized outdoor shows with the kind of natural setting most venues would kill for. Sea-Tac flies your favorite acts in; Dune Peninsula sells them a return trip. For Tacoma's identity as a music city, this venue matters.
