🎺 Tacoma HONK! Fest Fills McKinley Hill With Free Street Music October 3

Tacoma’s most joyful noise is back. HONK! Fest takes over the McKinley Hill business district on Saturday, October 3, and it is a free, all-day celebration of Pacific Northwest street bands.

The format is simple and a little bit gloriously chaotic. More than twenty brass, street, and activist bands set up on stages scattered through the neighborhood and roam the streets and alleys between sets. You wander from corner to corner, follow the sound, and catch jam sessions, roving parades, and the kind of horn-driven energy that gets a whole block moving.

It is built for families and first-timers. Everything is free and outdoors, the music runs through the afternoon, and the day closes with a big audience sing-along, so bring the kids and a noisemaker of your own. If you want a head start, there is a pre-festival concert the evening of October 2.
