✈️ Sea-Tac's New C Concourse Just Opened

Here's What's Inside...

If you're flying out of Sea-Tac anytime soon, expect a very different airport…

Concourse C at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport officially opened to passengers on June 11, 2026 — a brand new $399 million expansion that nearly tripled the size of the original concourse, from about 81,000 square feet to 229,500.

The timing is intentional. The Port of Seattle wanted this open before two huge summer travel drivers: peak summer 2026 vacations and the FIFA World Cup matches at Lumen Field.

🌲 The Architecture

The new concourse adds four floors above the existing footprint, with a design inspired by the natural landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. The centerpiece is The Tree at C, a sculptural element rising near the Grand Stairs.

There's also The Lookout at C, an airfield observation deck where you can actually watch planes take off and land while you wait.

🍽 10 New Dining and Retail Spots

The new concourse adds a mix of national and local brands:

  • Chili's (national)

  • Buffalo Wild Wings (national)

  • Great State Burger (regional)

  • Bite Society (gift cookies and snacks)

  • Nanny's BBQ

  • Olympia Coffee (yes, our Olympia Coffee Roasting Company)

  • Seattle Macaron Co

  • Taco Street

Plus an Alaska Airlines Lounge and six SEA Sparks Incubator Program kiosks featuring rotating local small businesses.

🧘 Wellness and Inclusion Spaces

The new concourse intentionally added:

  • Interfaith Prayer and Meditation Room

  • Sensory Room (for travelers with sensory sensitivities)

  • Nursing Room

  • Performance Area

These are the kind of amenities a 21st-century airport gets right.

📈 Why It Matters for the South Sound

Sea-Tac isn't exactly "ours" the way Tacoma or Olympia are — but it's the airport every South Sound traveler uses, and it's been long overdue for an upgrade. The Concourse C expansion changes the experience for almost everyone flying out of the South End. Olympia Coffee being one of the new tenants is a small win for Thurston County representation up at the airport. And the Tree at C is going to be the most photographed thing at the airport for the next decade.
