🥀 Reminder: Chicory in Downtown Olympia Closing at Year’s End

One of Olympia’s most beloved farm-to-table restaurant

If you dine out in downtown Olympia, there’s one final month to enjoy a local favorite before it closes its doors for good.

Chicory, the restaurant located on Columbia Street, will officially close at the end of December. While the team announced their decision earlier this fall, the restaurant has remained open for regular service — offering guests one last chance to experience their seasonal, locally sourced dishes before the year ends.

🥗 A Thoughtful, Farm-Forward Dining Experience
Since opening, Chicory has built a loyal following around its ingredient-driven menu, elevated comfort food, and a deep commitment to local farmers, producers, and the Olympia food community.

Known for its:

  • Rotating seasonal dishes

  • Beautifully plated small plates and entrĂ©es

  • Local beer, cider, and natural wine selections

  • Cozy, wood-accented dining space

Chicory became a favorite for everything from quiet date nights to celebratory meals — and its closure marks a real shift for Olympia’s downtown dining scene.

🌆 Another Big Change for Downtown Olympia
Chicory’s closure is one of several notable changes happening in downtown Olympia as we head into 2025. While new restaurants and cafés continue to open in the area, the loss of Chicory is a reminder of how challenging it can be to maintain small, independent restaurants in the current economic climate — even those that seem to be deeply loved by the community.

Whether it’s due to operating costs, staffing challenges, or evolving personal priorities, the restaurant's owners made the decision earlier this year and gave guests a long runway to enjoy one last visit.

❤️ Go While You Still Can
If Chicory has been on your list — or if it’s already a favorite — now’s the time to book a reservation or drop in for one more meal. Their final month promises to be filled with thoughtful dishes, warm hospitality, and plenty of bittersweet moments.
