🎨 Fall Arts Walk Takes Over Downtown Olympia October 2 and 3

Twice a year, downtown Olympia hands itself over to the arts, and the fall edition is almost here. Fall Arts Walk runs Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3, it is free, and it is one of the best ways to spend a weekend downtown.

The idea is simple and it works. For two days, downtown storefronts, studios, and organizations turn into creative hubs, hosting local artists and filling their spaces with visual, performing, and literary art. You wander from block to block, pop in wherever looks interesting, and catch demonstrations, receptions, and pop-up performances along the way.

Down on the water, the Arts Market at Percival Landing sets up with dozens of local makers selling their work, which makes it an easy place to start or end your loop. Between the galleries, the music, and the food downtown, it is a full day out that does not cost anything to walk into.

The two days have different personalities, so plan for the one you want. Friday runs in the evening, from 5 to 10, for a buzzy after-dark stroll. Saturday is a daytime event, from noon to 6, that is easier with kids and better for a slow browse. Locals do both.
