🏀 New Youth Sports Complex Proposed

Game Time Way could serve 4,000+ kids each year

If you live in Lakewood, especially if you’ve got kids involved in sports, there’s a new proposal on the table that could mean big things for local families.

A brand-new indoor sports complex called Game Time Way Sports Complex has been proposed inside a Lakewood business park, just off 95th Street SW. The plan? Transform an existing warehouse into a full-scale athletic facility serving thousands of South Sound kids each year.

🏗️ What’s in the Works
The proposed project would remodel a 21,000-square-foot suite inside the business park, no new construction, just a total transformation of the existing space.

Here’s what the complex would include:

  • Indoor basketball courts

  • Volleyball and pickleball areas

  • Dodgeball space

  • A weight room and training area

  • And even a learning center to support academics

Organizers estimate the facility could serve over 4,000 youth per year, using staggered program schedules to help manage traffic and parking in the surrounding area.

It’s a bold vision, and one that could fill a big gap in year-round athletic access for Lakewood families.

đź“„ Where Things Stand Now
The project is still under review by the City of Lakewood. Since the site is zoned for business/industrial use, the proposal requires a conditional-use permit before it can move forward.

It’s currently in the public-comment period, with a formal public hearing to be scheduled in the coming weeks. That hearing will be the next major step in deciding whether this project becomes reality.

🗣️ Residents can submit feedback to the city to weigh in on the proposed facility, particularly around traffic, safety, and community value.

📍 Proposed Location:
4429 95th Street SW, Suite 8B
Lakewood, WA (in an existing business park)

âš˝ Why It Matters
Between Lakewood’s growing population and increased demand for indoor recreation space, this could be a game-changer, especially for families looking for local, accessible, structured programs that go beyond seasonal sports.

It’s also part of a bigger trend: Lakewood’s business parks are starting to evolve, with more creative uses blending education, recreation, and community health. Instead of traditional warehousing or light industrial tenants, the area is seeing more purpose-driven community-focused proposals like this one.

If approved, the Game Time Way Sports Complex could help shape the next chapter of Lakewood’s growth, one centered on youth opportunity, not just commerce.
