☕ Johnny Coffee Brings a Fresh Vibe to Downtown Olympia
On the corner of Legion Way and Capitol Way
If you’re in downtown Olympia, there’s a brand-new place to grab your morning pick-me-up. Johnny Coffee has officially opened on the corner of Legion Way and Capitol Way, right across from Sylvester Park — a prime spot that’s seen a few coffee legends before it.

The space once housed both Dancing Goat Coffee and Starbucks, but now it’s getting new life under a local brand that’s focused on craftsmanship, community, and comfort.
🌿 A Focus on Quality and Craft
Johnny Coffee is already making a name for itself with its alderwood-roasted beans — a signature roast that gives every cup a smooth, slightly smoky flavor unique to the Pacific Northwest.
But coffee isn’t the only highlight here. Their organic matcha program is a standout, featuring ceremonial-grade matcha lattes and a rotating selection of loose-leaf teas for non-coffee drinkers.
To round out the menu, you’ll also find:
🧇 House-made waffles (a local favorite already)
🥪 Breakfast sandwiches made fresh to order
🍯 House-crafted syrups for customized lattes and specialty drinks
It’s a carefully curated menu designed to balance comfort with creativity, offering something for everyone — from early risers to downtown professionals.
🕒 Getting Started
For now, Johnny Coffee is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. while the team settles in and refines operations. The space feels bright, approachable, and community-oriented — the kind of local café that feels instantly familiar but still excitingly new.
Given its central location near Sylvester Park, expect it to quickly become a go-to stop for morning commuters, students, and anyone looking to spend a quiet afternoon downtown.
