🍪 Cookie Dough Delight in Tacoma’s Stadium District Set to Close
Popular dessert shop announces final day will be December 28
If you live near Tacoma’s Stadium District or you’ve ever stopped in for a late-night sweet treat, this is a bittersweet update.

Cookie Dough Delight, known for its edible cookie dough, ice cream creations, and baked desserts, has announced that it will officially close its doors on Sunday, December 28.
The shop is located on North 1st Street, just blocks from Wright Park and Stadium High School. Since opening in 2021, it’s served as a go-to stop for families, students, and dessert lovers in the neighborhood. The storefront is part of the Cookie Dough Bliss franchise, and quickly earned a following for its colorful display case, customizable cookie dough scoops, and soft-serve pairings.
💬 Why It’s Closing
In a recent announcement, the owners cited rising operational costs and the ongoing challenges small businesses face as the reasons behind the difficult decision to close.
While no further details were shared about what’s next for the space, the team expressed gratitude for the community support over the past few years.
“We’ve loved being part of the Stadium District and appreciate every customer who supported us,” they wrote in a social media farewell.
🏙️ A Shifting Local Landscape
The closure of Cookie Dough Delight is another reminder of the ongoing changes happening across Tacoma’s small business scene, especially in food and hospitality.
Between staffing shortages, inflation, lease renewals, and the cost of goods, many local restaurants and cafés have been forced to rethink how they operate, or make the hard call to step away.
In the last 12 months alone, several beloved spots across downtown Tacoma, 6th Ave, and South Tacoma Way have closed or been listed for sale. While others, like Dave’s Hot Chicken and Shake Shack, are entering the scene as part of The Village redevelopment at Tacoma Mall.
📍 Final Days to Visit
If you’d like to support Cookie Dough Delight before it closes, the team is still scooping until Sunday, December 28. Hours may fluctuate slightly, so check their social media or call ahead before visiting.
The final days may include specials or limited flavors, and digital gift cards are still being accepted.
