Cluck & Stack Is Bringing the Heat

There's a new counter opening at the South Hill Mall food court in Puyallup 
and if you're a burger person, this is one to know about.

Cluck & Stack is a smash-burger and fried-chicken concept opening later this month inside South Hill Mall's food court. The same operators who run 5 Rivers Cafe (also inside South Hill Mall) are behind it. It's registered in Washington as CLUCK & STACK LLC out of Puyallup, a real business, real filing, real opening timeline.

Here's what they're serving: smash burgers, juicy chicken burgers, vegan burgers, crispy fried wings, chicken strips, golden fries, shakes, and per the owners, "way more."

The South Hill Mall food court has been quietly getting more interesting. Between Cluck & Stack and 5 Rivers Cafe, you now have two independently-run concepts sitting alongside the usual chains. That's rare in a food court, and it makes the mall a legitimate lunch stop instead of just a fallback.

The owners say they're "2 weeks out of opening" as of early July, so plan on mid-to-late July 2026. We'll update this post the day the doors open. Watch @aaronthomaspnw on Instagram for opening day.

Real estate note: the South Hill corridor along S Meridian has been quietly one of Pierce County's most active retail zones, the mall, the new construction on 176th, the density between 128th and Frederickson. When independent food operators start choosing your corridor over a strip mall, that's a signal.
