🌯 Chipotle Is Coming to Tacoma’s West End

A New Location Is Under Construction at Westgate South Shopping Center

Tacoma’s West End is getting a spicy upgrade: Chipotle Mexican Grill is officially setting up shop in the former MOD Pizza space at 2303 N. Pearl St., located in the Westgate South shopping center.

While the fast-casual chain hasn’t released an official grand opening date just yet, crews on-site estimate the new restaurant will be ready to open by August 2025 — just in time for late-summer burrito cravings.

🌮 What to Expect

This Chipotle location will not include a drive-thru, unlike the one near Tacoma Mall, but it will offer the brand’s full in-store dining experience and mobile app-based ordering for quick pickup.

Guests can expect:

Classic burritos, bowls, tacos, and salads
App-based “Chipotlane” mobile order pickup
Options for catering and group orders
Friendly dining for lunch, dinner, or that 3PM burrito fix

The West End has been growing steadily in both residential density and retail traffic, and this Chipotle location reflects that trend. With Pearl Street’s proximity to Point Defiance, Ruston, and nearby neighborhoods, this spot is expected to serve a broad crowd of students, professionals, and families looking for healthy fast-casual options.

Construction is currently in the tenant improvement phase. Permits were filed earlier this year, and the space is now being built out to fit Chipotle’s signature clean, modern look.
