🍗 Chick-fil-A Opens New Location in West Olympia
Second Thurston County restaurant launches near Capital Mall

If you’ve driven through West Olympia this week — especially near Capital Mall Drive and Cooper Point Road — you’ve probably already spotted the line.

That’s because Chick-fil-A has officially opened a brand-new location right in the heart of Olympia’s busiest retail corridor. It’s the second Chick-fil-A in Thurston County, following the success of their Lacey restaurant — and based on the early turnout, this new spot is shaping up to be just as popular.
🏙️ What to Know About the New Location
📍 Address: Capital Mall Dr & Cooper Point Rd, Olympia, WA
⏰ Hours:
Dine-in: 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday
Drive-thru: Open until 10:00 p.m.
Closed Sundays (as per all Chick-fil-A locations)
This is a full-service Chick-fil-A with indoor dining, mobile pickup, drive-thru, and their full menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items — including the classic chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and seasonal milkshakes.
👨✈️ Meet the Local Owner: Mike Cuomo
One of the more compelling parts of this opening is the story behind its operator.
Mike Cuomo, the franchise owner and local operator of the West Olympia Chick-fil-A, served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear engineer before joining Chick-fil-A as a team member. He worked his way up through the company, eventually earning the opportunity to lead his own restaurant.
Now, he’s bringing that same level of focus and leadership to West Olympia — and he’s committed to hiring local and building a team rooted in strong customer service.
🔁 What’s Next?
A third Thurston County Chick-fil-A location has already been proposed for Martin Way in Olympia, on the site currently occupied by Red Lobster. While that project is still in the early stages of review, it’s clear that Chick-fil-A sees big potential in this region — and that Olympia is solidly on the radar for national brands expanding into mid-sized markets.
📈 Why It Matters
With more big-name restaurants and retail projects coming to the west side — from new housing near Capital Mall to expanded grocery options — this Chick-fil-A opening is part of a larger wave of continued growth across West Olympia.
And for South Sound residents who’ve been making the drive to Lacey (or even Tacoma) to satisfy a chicken sandwich craving — your wait is over.
