Capital Lakefair Opens Tomorrow.
Thurston County's biggest annual summer festival,

Wednesday, July 15th and runs through Sunday, July 19 at Heritage Park in downtown Olympia.

This is the 69th year Lakefair has run. It started in 1957 as a coordinated summer event by local residents and small businesses. It has since grown into a five-day festival that draws visitors from across Western Washington and has funneled millions of dollars to community non-profits and over $400,000 in scholarships to local high school students.
Here's the daily rhythm:
Wednesday, July 15 — Opening day. The carnival opens at Heritage Park, and the main stage kicks off a full week of free live music.
Thursday, July 16 — Carnival and vendors continue. Live music on the main stage.
Friday, July 17 — The annual car show takes over Deschutes Parkway, showcasing classic cars, custom vehicles, and motorcycles.
Saturday, July 18 — The Grand Parade steps off at 5 PM (pre-parade festivities start at 4:45). It's one of the largest parades in Thurston County.
Sunday, July 19 — The Grand Finale Fireworks display goes off at 10 PM over Capitol Lake. You can watch from Heritage Park, Deschutes Parkway, or anywhere on the Capitol Campus with a view of the lake.
Festival admission is free. You pay for individual carnival rides, food, and anything you buy from vendors. Food concessions run noon–10 PM Wed-Thu, noon–11 PM Fri-Sat, and noon-midnight on Sunday.
The main stage is admission-free all week, with local, regional, and national performers.
Real estate note: Lakefair week is one of downtown Olympia's biggest activation weeks of the year. Heritage Park, Percival Landing, the isthmus, and the surrounding downtown corridor all come alive. If you're watching Olympia's downtown recovery — the small-shop density, the walkability, the events that pull people in — this is the week to walk the corridor.
